Isolation lists must include auxiliary systems
A permit walk down on 1 September found that the lubrication oil pump for boiler feed pump 2B was not on the isolation list. The fitter caught it before work started. Every isolator must list every energy source including auxiliaries, and every recipient must walk the isolation before accepting the permit. The isolation list template has been updated.

GT2 trip investigation and combustion inspection
GT2 tripped on 5 September on high exhaust temperature spread and was returned to service the same afternoon. The investigation is open and a combustion inspection is proposed for November. Controllers must watch the can 7 thermocouple trend each shift and log any spread above 50 degrees Celsius. Questions to the Operations Manager.

October outage: contractor induction sessions
The GT1 and steam turbine outage starts on 5 October with around 90 contractors on site. Induction sessions run every weekday from 22 September in the training room. Contractors must declare chemicals for the register and must not enter plant areas without checking the permit board. Supervisors must confirm inductions in the authorisation records before day one.

Dam safety: gallery drain D-14 under watch
Gallery drain D-14 at the Mitta Ranges dam has increased flow over the past two months. It is below the alert level and the dam safety engineer has been informed. Operators must read D-14 weekly and report any further increase on the day. Two people must attend every gallery inspection.

Site safety committee and first response team drill
The site safety committee meets on 18 September and the first response team drill follows on 25 September at the fire training ground. Panel C members are rostered for the drill. Health and safety representatives should send agenda items to the HSE and Quality Manager by 16 September. All welcome to observe the drill from the assembly area.
